Snoop Dogg’s “Ain’t no fun” is about as obvious as it gets when it comes to the degradation and objectification of women. To start, degrading words and phrases are used throughout the song. Though they have found commonplace in the vocabulary of many nowadays, this terminology is offensive and derogatory.
Diving into the song…

Snoop Dogg raps, “I had respect for ya lady / but now I take it all back / Cause you gave me all your p****.” These lyrics imply that before I woman has sex, she is desirable, yet after, she is left with no respect. This perpetuates the idea that a woman's only value is sex.

Later in the song, Snoop Dogg says, “And then I'm through with it, there's nothing else to do with it / Pass it to the homie, now you hit it / Cause she ain't nothing but a b**** to me.” Again, these lyrics are incredibly degrading and only place an emphasis on a woman's sexual value. The way in which he is talking about a woman is similar to the way the marijuana enthusiast would talk about a joint, as something that can be passed around. A joint, however, is not a woman, it is an inanimate thing that has no thoughts of feelings. This clear objectification of women, in this line and throughout the song, normalizes the idea that women are just sexual objects for men to enjoy.
